Cindy Sutch Whitelaw Entertainment

There’s something magical about watching a community come alive around music. A band steps on stage, the first chord rings out, and suddenly people are smiling, connecting, donating, and supporting a cause that matters. I’ve seen it happen again and again — in small towns, big cities, church halls, outdoor festivals, and charity galas across Canada and every time it gives me goosebumps and brings tears to my eyes. I’m reminded why I love what I do.

For years, I’ve worked with artists, tour managers, promoters, and nonprofit organizations from coast to coast. I’ve helped bands cross the border, helped charities book talent, and helped communities raise money for the causes closest to their hearts. It’s work that blends everything I care about: music, people, logistics, and making a real difference.

How It Started: Helping Artists Navigate Canada

My consulting journey really began after Covid. After many years working with Cathie Faint Entertainment — learning the ins and outs of the live music world and building relationships I’ll always treasure — the shutdown hit hard. The entire industry went quiet. It was a difficult time for businesses, artists, crews, and tours. I will forever be grateful for the time I spent at CFE and everything I learned there.

When things slowly began to open up again, I felt a pull to create something of my own to help others while earning an income. So I opened our consulting business just outside of Toronto, with the goal of helping artists, tour managers, and nonprofits get back on their feet.

One of the biggest challenges I saw right away was how overwhelming the process could be for U.S. artists entering Canada. Tour managers were juggling constantly changing rules, bands were trying to get back on the road, and nonprofits often didn’t know where to start. I wanted to make things easier — to bring clarity, calm, and support during a time when everyone needed it. My focus became making the process smooth, predictable, and stress‑free.

As I worked with more organizations, I realized something important: nonprofits weren’t just looking for help with border paperwork. They needed help booking the right bands in the first place.

They needed someone who understood both sides of the industry — the creative side and the compliance side. Someone who could talk to managers, negotiate contracts, coordinate logistics, and make sure the event actually raised money.

That’s when I expanded my services, and it’s become one of the most meaningful parts of my work.

Why I Love Working With Nonprofits

Nonprofits have heart. They’re driven by purpose, not profit. They’re run by volunteers, committees, and people who genuinely want to make their community better. When they host a fundraiser, it’s not just an event — it’s a lifeline.

Helping them succeed feels meaningful.

I love being the person who says, “Don’t worry, I’ll take care of that.” I love matching them with bands that fit their audience and budget. I love seeing their event exceed expectations. And I love knowing that the money raised goes directly to programs that matter.

Whether it’s an animal rescue, a hospital foundation, a youth program, or a community group, every event has a story. Being part of that story is something I never take for granted.

What I Bring to the Table

Over the years, I’ve worked with countless artists and organizations across Canada and the US. That experience has shaped a service that nonprofits tell me they can’t find anywhere else:

  • Band sourcing and recommendations
  • Contract negotiation and logistics
  • Full coordination with managers and promoters
  • Advance Border Notification and all U.S. artist entry paperwork
  • Event support from start to finish

It’s a complete, turnkey solution — designed to save nonprofits time, stress, and money.

Why Music Works for Fundraising

Music draws people in. It creates energy, excitement, and emotion — the perfect environment for fundraising. A great band can double attendance, boost donations, and turn a simple event into a memorable experience.

When nonprofits tell me, “This was our best fundraiser ever,” I feel proud. Not because of the credit, but because I know how much work goes into keeping a nonprofit running. Every dollar raised matters.

Looking Ahead

I’m proud to be growing this side of our family‑run business. Supporting nonprofits, helping them bring in incredible talent, and watching their events come to life has become one of the most meaningful parts of what I do. I’m grateful for every artist, tour manager, and organization that trusts me to be part of their journey, and I look forward to helping even more communities across Canada create unforgettable fundraising events.

Most of all, I’m grateful — grateful for the trust organizations place in me, grateful for the relationships I’ve built, and grateful for the chance to use my skills to help communities thrive.
